Questions

The things people ask, answered as they stand today rather than as we would like them to stand.

Do the games cost anything?

Our browser games are free to play. Smartphone apps may offer optional in-app purchases. Check the game's description for the features available on each platform.

The studio behind them is a company, and this site may carry advertising. Where it does, the cookies involved are described in the プライバシーポリシー.

Do I need an account?

No, and there is not one to make. No game here asks for an email address, a password or a sign-in of any kind.

Your progress lives on your device, which is why there is nothing to log in to and nothing to lose the password for.

Do I have to install anything?

No installation is needed for browser play. Open the game's URL to load it in your browser; you do not need to download a separate app or plug-in.

You can add any of them to a phone home screen if you want a launcher icon, but that is your browser doing it, not us asking you to.

Where are my high scores saved?

In your own browser, on the device you played on, using local storage. We do not keep a copy.

That means a record set on your phone is not on your laptop, and clearing your browser’s site data will erase it with no way back. A private or incognito window generally forgets everything when it closes. Getting started goes into this in more detail.

Is there a leaderboard?

There is no global leaderboard. Your personal best stays on your device. Flying Penguin's Versus mode compares players' distances within a room.

Flying Penguin, Break Works and Block Pong can also hand over a link that replays your run, so the other person watches it happen rather than trusting a number.

Which browsers work?

Any current version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge, on phones, tablets and computers alike.

Games that use WebGL need browser graphics support. If a game fails to load or runs slowly, check that hardware acceleration is enabled in your browser settings.

Can I play offline?

Browser play needs a connection for the first load. Your browser may cache files afterwards, but you should not rely on being able to reopen a browser game offline. App editions have their own offline capabilities.

How many people can play together?

Flying Penguin's Versus mode has rooms for two to four players. Empty seats can be filled with computer players, and others can watch. The Playing together guide explains how to create a room and share its link.

Are the games suitable for children?

Flying Penguin shows a cartoon bear hitting a cartoon penguin; Break Works involves demolishing stacks of crates. Flying Penguin's Versus mode displays player names, and people with the room link or code can join or watch. Share room details only with the people you intend to invite.

Iromino is intended for players aged 13 and up. A game's intended audience is not a formal age rating. Read its description and, for an app edition, the rating on its store listing before choosing a game for a child.

What data do you collect?

The specifics — cookies, analytics, what is kept and for how long — are set out in the プライバシーポリシー, which is the authoritative document and is written in Japanese.

The short version is that gameplay data such as your best distance stays on your device, and the site itself uses the ordinary analytics and cookie machinery described there.

Why is each game on a different address?

So that any one of them can be rebuilt, moved or taken offline for an afternoon without disturbing the others. This site is the front door; the games are separate houses.

Two of them live on game5.app, which is where the studio published before this site existed. Same people, same games, older address.

Will these games stay up?

That is the intention. Block Pong has been up for years already.

If something ever does have to go, the plan is to say so here rather than to let a link quietly stop working.

Can I write about, stream or record these games?

Yes, freely, including monetised video. You do not need permission and you do not need to ask.

If you want art, a description or anything else to go with it, Support has the address to ask at.

I found a bug. Where does it go?

Support — it lists the handful of details that make a bug reproducible, which is the difference between a report we can act on and one we cannot.

Who makes these?

Electric Sheep, Inc., a small company in Tokyo. About the studio covers how the games get made; the formal operator details are on 運営者情報.
