Data Recipients
This page lists, by recipient, the information that third-party SDKs and services built into the apps of games provided by Electric Sheep, Inc. (House Mouse Games; "we," "us," or "our") send from your device, and for each recipient the purpose, retention, and how to stop it.
The privacy policy of each of our games (the title-specific data handling statement described in our Game Privacy Policy) shows which of these recipients the game uses, and in which app (the iOS app or the Android app). A recipient listed on this page that is not listed in a game's privacy policy is not used in that game. This page applies as part of the privacy policy of each game that uses the recipients described here. If a game's privacy policy differs from this page, the game's privacy policy prevails for that game.
The transmissions described on this page are made directly from your device by each company's SDK or store system and do not pass through our servers. Whether we may view any of this information is described in each section.
Apple and Google (in-app purchases)
Recipients: Apple Inc. (the App Store; iOS apps) and Google LLC (Google Play; Android apps)
Apps that offer in-app purchases communicate with the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) to check product prices and your purchase status (for example, when an app starts or returns to the foreground), and when you make a purchase or restore purchases. Apple or Google processes the payment and the information about your store account and payment method; we do not receive it. Unless a game's privacy policy provides otherwise, the app checks whether a purchase is valid on your device and does not send purchase information to our servers.
Google Play Billing Library, which Android apps use to process purchases, may send information about how the library is working, such as whether its calls succeed and problems connecting to Google Play, to Google. Google states that it uses this information to improve the library's performance and to provide better support for errors.
- Purpose: to sell in-app products, check your purchase status, and restore purchases
- Retention: as set out in each company's privacy policy and terms. We may view sales totals and transaction status (such as the date and time, product, price, and country of a transaction) in each store's developer console, but this information is held by each store, and unless a game's privacy policy provides otherwise, we do not store it separately. Purchases are recorded in your Apple or Google account and remain after you delete an app.
- How to stop: This communication is needed for purchases and for checking your purchase status, so there is no setting in our games to stop it. While your device is offline, this communication does not take place, and you cannot make or restore purchases.
Apple and Google handle information on their own responsibility based on your relationship with their stores, according to their own privacy policies:
AppLovin (ads)
Recipient: AppLovin Corp. ("AppLovin"). AppLovin is based in the United States, and the information may be transferred to the United States.
Apps that show ads include the SDK of AppLovin MAX, an ad service of AppLovin. From the time an app starts, the SDK sends the following information to AppLovin. We do not receive it.
- Android apps: your advertising ID and App Set ID (read when the app starts), and whether you have limited ads based on your interests in your device's advertising ID settings
- iOS apps: the IDFA (the iOS advertising identifier; read only if you allow tracking as described below), the IDFV (an identifier for your device that is shared by apps from the same developer), and the status of your tracking permission described below (for example, whether you have allowed or declined tracking, or have not chosen yet)
- Your IP address, device model, operating system, device settings, mobile carrier, and connection type
- The app's name and version, how the app performs, and launch and install information
- Information about how the SDK is working, including crash logs
- General location information such as your country, time zone, and language
- Your interactions with ads, such as views, watching, taps, and closing an ad
- Whether you have opted out of the sale or sharing of personal information under US state laws (only if the game's settings screen offers that setting)
iOS apps use iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) to ask for your permission to track you. They ask only if you have not yet allowed or declined tracking. When each game asks is described in its privacy policy. Tracking means linking information about you or your device obtained in a game with information obtained from other companies' apps and websites, and using it to show ads or to measure their effectiveness. If you do not allow tracking, the AppLovin SDK cannot read the IDFA. Ads are still shown in that case. You can change this permission at any time in your device settings.
Your tracking permission and your advertising ID settings are stored on your device (in the iOS or Android settings). The AppLovin SDK reads them from your device and sends them to AppLovin as described above. Our games do not store them separately and do not send them to our servers.
- Purpose: to show ads, to measure ad views and performance, to prevent ad fraud, and to maintain and improve AppLovin's services. Under its own privacy policy, AppLovin also uses this information, combined with information from other companies' apps and websites, to show ads based on your interests, and shares it with advertisers, ad networks, and other third parties.
- Retention: as set out in AppLovin's privacy policy (which states that it typically keeps information for up to two years). We do not store this information.
- How to stop: In Android apps, you can delete or reset your advertising ID in your device settings. In iOS apps, you can withdraw your permission to track you in your device settings. If you do, the AppLovin SDK can no longer read the IDFA. These settings let you limit ads based on your interests. You can ask AppLovin to delete the information it holds or to stop showing ads based on your interests, as described in AppLovin's privacy policy. Whether a game offers a setting or product that stops ads, and whether it stops this transmission, is described in that game's privacy policy.
- For users in the United States: this transmission may constitute sharing of personal information or targeted advertising under state laws.
- Children: AppLovin states that it does not knowingly collect personal information from, or show ads to, children as defined by law.
AppLovin handles information according to its own privacy policy:
- AppLovin: https://legal.applovin.com/privacy/
Meta (measuring ad effectiveness)
Recipient: Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta"). Meta is based in the United States, and the information may be transferred to the United States.
Android apps that measure whether they were installed from our games' ads on Meta's services, such as Facebook and Instagram, include Meta's SDK. From the time an app starts, regardless of whether you saw our ads, the SDK sends the following information to Meta. We do not receive it.
- Your advertising ID, and whether you have limited ads based on your interests in your device's advertising ID settings
- A random identifier that the Meta SDK creates for each app and stores on your device (deleted when the app's data is cleared)
- If the Facebook app is installed on your device and the SDK can read it, the identifier that the Facebook app holds for measuring ad effectiveness
- Information about your use of the app that the SDK records automatically, such as installs, launches, how long you use the app, and the names of the screens you view, and the Google Play install referrer (information showing where you got the app; only if it indicates that you came through Facebook)
- Device information such as your IP address, device model, operating system version, language and region settings, time zone, mobile carrier, and screen size
- The app's name and version
- Records of crashes, freezes (app not responding), and errors related to the SDK
In addition, depending on Meta's server settings, the SDK may record events inferred from how you interact with the app's screens, and may use the Android Privacy Sandbox to measure ad effectiveness or add your device to groups of users targeted by ads (custom audiences). Whether purchase information is sent to Meta is described in each game's privacy policy.
Your advertising ID settings are stored on your device (in the Android settings). The Meta SDK reads them from your device and sends them to Meta as described above. Our games do not store them separately and do not send them to our servers.
We may view aggregated results, such as the number of installs from our ads, in Meta's tools. This information is held by Meta, and we do not store it separately.
- Purpose: to measure the effectiveness of our games' ads and to optimize their delivery on Meta. Under its own privacy policy, Meta also uses this information, combined with information from other companies' apps and websites, to show ads based on your interests, and to improve its services.
- Retention: as set out in Meta's privacy policy. We do not store this information.
- How to stop: If you delete or reset your advertising ID in your device settings, the Meta SDK can no longer send your previous advertising ID, but it continues to send the other information. To stop all of it, uninstall the app. If you have a Meta account, you can manage how information sent to Meta from other companies' apps and websites is used in the settings of Meta's services. You can ask Meta for access to or deletion of the information it holds, as described in Meta's privacy policy. Whether a game offers a setting that stops this transmission is described in that game's privacy policy.
- Sharing with third parties: the extent to which Meta shares this information with third parties is set out in Meta's privacy policy.
- For users in the United States: this transmission may constitute sharing of personal information or targeted advertising under state laws.
- Children: Meta's Business Tools Terms prohibit sending Meta information that is known to be from or about children under the age of 13.
Meta handles information according to its own privacy policy:
Changes to this page
We update this page when we add a recipient, when a company's SDK changes, or for other reasons. Before we add a recipient, or change the information sent, its purpose, or how to stop it, we update this page and post the update date before the new transmission begins. We will notify you in advance of material changes that affect your rights, following the procedures in the privacy policy of each game that uses the recipient and in our Game Privacy Policy.
